Winter Weather brings it's problems to fuel and oil filters. Fuel & oil becomes too "thick" to pass through the fine pores in the filter element. When the fuel "gells" it won't flow and the engine will not start. Engine wear is increased when the flow of lubricating oil is restricted in the filter element. Fuel filters also suffer from additional restrictions if there is any water or moisture in the fuel which will freeze in the filter element. The solution is to warm the filter housing to summer temperatures. This allows suffient fuel to flow to start the engine and unplugs the oil filter to increase the flow. Residual heat in the filter housing helps warm the fuel & oil passing through it. The product is our FILTER HEATER (FH-50) This is a 12 volt, flexible heating pad that wraps around the filter housing. The FH-50 can be quickly and easily installed on numerous sizes of filters using the adjustable Velcro straps. By warming the fuel filter, for example, the fuel
temperature will increase above the Pour Point and melt any
fuel/ice slush. This will permit sufficient fuel to flow to
the injection system to allow the engine to start and warm
up. Technical Information: Dimensions: |
